Experience Rallarvegen on a custom-built Rallar bike!
With over 30 years of experience with bike rental on Rallarvegen we know what works (and doesn't work). You will find our rentals/shops located in Haugastøl, Finse and Flåm.
As a rental our most important task is having bikes that can sustain the use on Rallarvegen. That’s why most of our bikes are custom built with quality parts suited for the route. Our team of bike mechanics service the bikes after each trip so you can be sure that the bike is in great condition when you pick it up.
The Rallar bikes are equipped with thicker spokes, durable chains, tires, luggage carrier and hydraulic disc brakes.
We also have electric bikes, offroad bikes, kids bikes, trailers and tag-a-long. (Please note that all types of bikes are not available in all locations.)
Whats included?
All prices include the rental of the bike, toolkit and pump. Panniers for your luggage, helmets and gel seat covers can be rented for an additional fee.
Where can I return the bike?
You can return your bike in one of the following locations: Haugastøl, Finse, Myrdal and Flåm.
Flåm: no later than 18:00
Myrdal: no later than 17:00
Finse: no later than 18:00
Haugastøl: no later than 18:00
If you return it later than these times, one additional day’s rental will be charged.
Is it not cheaper to bring my own bike?
It depends on what part of the route you take, but due to transportation costs it is often not cheaper.
If you plan on riding Finse–Flåm, the price to bring your bike on the train is:
Ticket for the bike from Haugastøl/Oslo/Bergen to Finse = 245,-
Ticket Flåm to Myrdal = 220,-
Ticket Myrdal to Haugastøl/Oslo/Bergen = 245,-
Total cost = 710,-
If you add brake pad wear, general wear and tear and the time spent transporting your bike to/from the train, in most cases it is not worth it.
Do I need to prebook bikes?
The season is very short on Rallarvegen, so apart from some weekdays in the autumn every day is high season. We strongly recommend to prebook bikes to be sure we have availability. (But we will of course rent you a bike without prebooking if we have bikes available.)
Season
The season usually stretches from beginning/mid-July until the end of September for those who wish to cycle the entire route, depending on snow conditions. The distance Haugastøl–Finse and Myrdal–Flåm is usually free of snow before the rest of Rallarvegen. Please see our "Rallarvegreport" page for current road conditions.

Rallar Haugastøl Woman's
Special made for Rallarvegen in cooperation with the Norwegian bike manufacturer DBS.
The bike is equipped with Shimano SLX gear (11 gears), powerful hydraulic Deore disc brakes and front suspension with 110mm travel.
Lightweight aluminum frame with a touring geometry suited for Rallarvegen.
The bike has robust 27.5" anti-puncture CST Jack Rabbit tires. This gives a very low chance for a flat tire on your trip.
Planning on bringing luggage? Rallar Haugastøl is equipped with a luggage carrier suitable for bicycle bags.
Bottle cage and front/back mudguard is also standard on this model.
